BNET Launches its First Solar Power Plant Station

Manama, Bahrain: Bahrain Network (BNET) has launched its first solar power plant station, as part of the company's efforts to support sustainability initiatives and its endeavors to make energy more environmentally friendly, by producing renewable and clean energy to operate the company's operations with the aim of contributing to achieve zero carbon neutrality.

Solar energy is one of the primary renewable energy technology solutions to reduce the carbon footprint by reducing carbon emissions. Through this initiative, BNET seeks to contribute to the company's sustainability vision that aligns with the Kingdom’s renewable energy goals.

On this occasion, Shaikh Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Chief Operating Officer, commented: “In BNET, we affirm our commitment to support the efforts of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in achieving its vision of environmental sustainability through initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint, enhance energy efficiency, and multiply renewable energy sources, which would support the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve zero carbon neutrality by 2060.”

"The project's production capacity of the clean energy is 130 kilowatt per hour, which will contribute to reducing carbon emissions by the equivalent of 154 tons annually of clean energy, which is equivalent to planting 2,542 trees over 10 years period. BNET intends to launch more solar power plants according to its future plan for sustainability initiatives." He added.

On his end, Mr. Seena Dashty, Managing Director of Tarsheed Energy, commented: We’re dedicated towards playing an effective role within the community and we’re always on the lookout for opportunities where we can contribute in helping the community. We’re aware of the important role we must play to help develop solar energy and that we need to have an effective presence in conserving energy and spread guidance on its consumption to benefit the future generations.”

BNET is committed to continuing its endeavors to provide environmental projects in accordance with the company's sustainability vision, by developing the necessary plans and initiatives to achieve the Kingdom of Bahrain's Vision 2030.
